Black Tie is a dress code that for men consists of the traditional tuxedo and accompaniments: a black dinner jacket and matching trousers, an optional black formal waistcoat or black cummerbund, a white formal shirt, a black bow tie, black dress socks and black formal shoes.

White tie is the most formal of all dress codes. It is specified for highly special occasions, such as balls, galas, conferment ceremonies and weddings. White tie can be replaced by dark suit, but never with tuxedo. The popularity of the morning suit as wedding attire has increased. It is worn for daytime occasions before 6pm. The outfit consists of a black or grey coat, a grey or coloured waistcoat, a dress shirt, black and grey striped, grey or black trousers, and matte black leather or patent leather shoes. A formal or cravat is worn with the outfit which the colour may vary. A new variation is a blue morning coat and trousers. A grey top hat, grey gloves and a walking stick are also suitable accessories to wear with the morning suit.
